Great Content

Peak Performance with Good Content & Why Elite Athletes Never Eat Chicken Nuggets

Confused about what constitutes great content? Don’t worry, most people are. If you’ve ever wondered why you can’t get away with the bare minimum when it comes to content creation anymore, we’re here to give you the sideways face and let you down gently. Here goes.

If you’re in the business world, you’ve probably overheard the odd conversation about content, right? Well, once, content creation wasn’t the beast it is now. It was timid. Easily contained. Straightforward and easy to boot into shape. Today, content is a business essential online – and failing to recognise that can mean flatlining in the digital landscape.

So, let’s assume you’ve been well informed about how important it is to have that constant nutrition of appropriate and good content running through your business. And that, right there is the perfect metaphor. Let’s go with it:

Picture your business as a body. It has everything it needs: Strong development (there’s your skeleton) it’s highly responsive and easy to communicate with, (ergo, has a good nervous system,) and it has an undeniably great design (it’s ahem… visually appealing). Basically, your online kit is as good as it gets- Now, think of content like this: Content is to your site as food is to your body. Food can’t be re-used. It must be of good quality to return good quality experiences. Mama was right: You can’t feed yourself a diet consisting solely of chicken nuggets and expect peak athletic performance. This is nothing but the truth.

If a website is healthy and functionally attractive, then it is almost certainly kept alive with nutritious, appropriate content. That content can’t be recycled. It can’t contain fillers. It’s not dirt cheap. And you need to feed it regularly for consistently good results.

So, next time you find yourself asking the following questions:

Can’t I just re-write that article I wrote two months ago?

You could, but you’d be more bored than your readers. And that’s BORED.

Can I spend zero dollars on my content and still get a great result?

How you go about saving money is your business- we guess you could find a professional writer who wants to write your blogs for free – but hey, don’t forget to send us a postcard from Make Believe world, will you?
